Nature vs. Nurture: Homosexuality

The video we saw this week in Psychology was about Homosexuality. There are infinite debates on how homosexuality can be caused, is it the environment the person lives in or are they born with it. Scientists have discovered that every time a women has a male child the next generation has a 1/3 chance of being gay. What I learned from this video is that childhood gender nonconformity which means that a child has interests and acts like the opposite sex. Research shows that kids with childhood gender nonconformity end up being gay when they grow up. Also that homosexuality can be sensed at a really early age just like Adam and Jared; when they were only eighteen month’s old Jared was asking for a fire truck and Adam for a Barbie. I find interesting that homosexuality is not completely genetics but also not completely environmental. I find interesting that homosexuality is more nature than nurture, Adam’s mother said that who is worst to tell him that there is something wrong with him his own mother or her some people from school. If she would have told him that there was something wrong at an early age it would have changed his outside not his inside. Nature vs. Nature is a very interesting.
